New Client Questions

How do I book an appointment?

If you are ready to book your appointment you must text studio el mar’s at (214-600-8117). Introduce your first and last name, new or returning client, and your day/time availability!

What do you mean by “day/time availability”?

In order to find the first available day and time slots, we need to know what your availability is! Are you open in the mornings, evenings, afternoon? Do you have a specific time you’re free during the week? Only weekends or weekdays after 3pm? Do not give a specific day unless its weeks or months in advance.

Do I need a consultation?

Yes! All new clients looking for color services are required to have a consultation! This gives us an opportunity to better assess your hair, hair history, answer questions, and establish a realistic hair goal. A hair strand test is offered with the consultation.

Books are closed to new clients, but can I still get an appointment?

There is an opportunity to get an appointment if a current client cancels their appointment. Keep updated with studio el mar’s Instagram (@studio.el.mar) to see if any slots open up!

Why are you asking for a credit card if the consultation is free?

In order to secure your time slot, studio el mar requires a credit card to be on file. If you no-show, the missed consultation fee is $50 for our time. We cannot book a consultation if there is no card on file. Reference the Cancellation Policy.

How much does it cost to do my hair?

This question is unique to every individual client. This can be clarified more in our in-person consultation. A deposit is required to secure any slot and it is non-refundable. This amount is taken off the total amount due. If you receive a quote in-person, that will be the remaining due same-day of service. If you have any strict budget or pricing questions, please make this known or ask prior to the appointment to clarify any confusion. All prices listed are starting prices. This means it can increase for any unforeseeable product usage, color correction, & time spent on the hair at the appointment. Our pricing is non-negotiable as this reflects our time, continued education spent, and skill level.


Photo and Video Policy

What happens to my photos and videos that may be taken at the salon?

Photos and videos taken at the salon are used for the branding and advertisement on the artists’ and salon’s social media. By being a client at studio el mar, you are agreeing that the salon can post videos and photos of you or your likeness at any time.


Credit Card Information

How do I safely give my card information for booking?

studio el mar’s safest method is texting the salon number (214-600-8117) or emailing the salon email (hairbymarinstaff@gmail.com).

What is studio el mar’s preferred payment?

studio el mar accepts all forms of payment, but prefers cash or check first. After that, can accept Zelle or credit card. studio el mar will be removing Venmo and Cash App in the future due to poor security for businesses.
